Hi, all.

Does anyone experience an anxiety “hangover” after a particularly extended time of anxiety? I went to visit family this weekend (something I really wanted to do and had a wonderful time) but having a long drive there and back plus my general anxiety kept me in a heightened state for three days and now I feel like I’m “coming down” from it. I try not to avoid doing things because I know that can make the anxiety worse, but the days afterward are almost harder than the actual anxiety producing experience. Just got put on medication Monday. Hopefully that will help.

Hi pinkshaylee. I just went thru the same thing after a week of 6 family members visiting for a week. It's one of the many downsides of an anxiety induced inability to travel so they all come here. I too thought things would be such a relief after they left but other stressers filled in quickly. I'm better today as I finally was able to follow my regular routine which is calming for me. Can I ask what medication was prescribed for you? I'm currently on Lexapro and Klonopin. I hope things settle back down for you.

I usually get really really tired for a few days after having a rough string of anxious days. That is usually how I know I am cycling back up to normal.

My doctor (PCP) put me on BuSpar. That’s really all she’s willing to prescribe me without referring me to a psychiatrist. I understand why, but my insurance isn’t great and I just can’t afford the copays and cost that would come from seeing a specialist.

BuSpar is an interesting medication. The good thing is that it isn't addictive. BuSpar didn't work for me but for some people it has been the ticket, worked great for them. Good luck, hope it helps.

This happens to me too. The morning after a night time anxiety attack my eyes have huge dark circles even if I ended up getting my 8 hours
