It's completely normal to go through that. You were taking synthetic hormones, which your body became accomodated to, and now you've stopped.
When progesterone and estrogen is imbalanced it can cause huge waves of anxiety. It will settle though, and then you get to go back to just regular old anxiety! Definitely speak to your doctor/healthcare prov if you're concerned though.

I think what Nutmeg says has a lot of merit. It’s entirely logical. And you should discuss it with your doc too.

I had an awful time with birth control, I feel that it elevated my anxiety. I also developed depressive symptoms I never experienced before, and even suicidal thoughts (which is not something I have ever had normally). It also started me having hormone related migraines. If I could go back n time, I would have never taken birth control.

Thanks for sharing , did you have to take any medication for it and how long did it take for you to get over the nightmare

It just got better with time. The hormonal side of things cleared up within a month or so, but I also had migraines that affected my vision and that took around 6 months to get back to normal.
If you’re feeling really off, it’s best to see a doctor just to be sure there’s no other reason and to put your mind at rest.

I'm on hormone therapy. I have to take estrogen and progesterone other wise I don't have a period. It is pretty much birth control. I ran out awhile back and my symptoms were less severe over all ? I felt stressed out and anxious at times, but had normal stressful life stuff going on too. I was able to control my anxiety better though. I Finally got my prescription filled after months of not taking it and my anxiety has steadily been going through the roof. Tonight has been really bad. So there might be a connection. Idk though. it's hard to really tell. Anxiety is pretty much off and on for me all the time anyways.
