So I had acid reflux also know as GERD for a while now and It never use to bother me but, recently my anxiety seemed to make the symptoms of acid reflux more intense. Like for example a GERD flair up gives you extreme heartburn, nausea, dysphasia, and bloody stools also when this happens Its usually accompanied by an anxiety attack which makes my hands go numb, shoulder pain going down to my left arm and for a hypochondriac it makes me worry that I’m having a heartattack even though I know it’s my acid reflux/anxiety acting up. How do I make myself less anxious when this happens? Thanks

deep breathing it's what's been working for me. it's a bit hard to do especially if you feel like air or acid coming right back up. also make sure you're doing it right because at first i was just swallowing more air which turned this into another vicious cycle. it was my physiotherapist who taught me how to do it.
