Okay so this ones a little a embarrassing. My most recent health anxiety scare has been testicular cancer. To make a long story short I thought I’d discovered a lump on one side. I became obsessed with checking it for several days. I eventually think I realized that It wasn’t actually anything and was like part of the anatomy I just hadn’t noticed before. I seriously “self examed” myself like two dozen times. I’ve now moved on from that scare but as of a few days ago I have a little bit of pain in that area and of course it’s on the side that I keep checking. It most just hurts a little bit when I’m sitting. I think I basically irritated it by checking so many times, pressing, squeezing, etc. this pain hasn’t gotten worse since it started but it hasn’t gotten much better either. I started taking ibuprofen today because I read online that that can help with a contusion, which is what I think I have (fancy for bruise). I am hoping that someone out there on this forum has had a similar type of thing happen because I am worried I have done some serious damage.

I would leave it a few days, don't touch it and see if the pain goes away. It's probably just a little irritated from all the checking.

Thanks for the reply, Chris. I ended up going into a walk in clinic last night just to make sure everything is okay. A doc checked me all out down there and said he doesn’t see or suspect any seriously injury. Just to leave it alone for a few more days and see if the pain subsides.

Hey there. Since you took the time to reply to me on here figured I’d give you the follow up on what happened. I ended up going to a walk in clinic last week. a doc checked me all out down there and didn’t find anything and said it all looked and felt normal. He ran a lab just to be certain and that came back all clear as well. He actually said that’s he doesn’t advise men to do self examinations of any kind because about 99% of people who go in thinking they’ve found a lump don’t end up even being cancer or anything serious. Also, my pain totally cleared up so I’m feeling great.
