Anyone else here get Airplane anxiety? Where you get hot and uncomfortable sitting in a seat for all those hours and stuck in a plane? Anyone else here want to chime in?

I absolutely do. I have claustrophobia too.
Can you get some medicine from your doctor to help with the airplane ride?

Assuming you’re leaving from the west coast. The trick is to try to sleep most of the way. I agree with Sweet T if you can get a couple of short acting benzos like Ativan or Xanax, you should sleep and that’s also good given it will be I believe 3 hours earlier In Hawaii so you’ll be awake to enjoy the day or night as the case might be.

I get that too: tight spaces, nowhere to move, and the hours just crawl. I usually load up my phone with movies, music, and a playlist of super chill stuff. Noise-canceling headphones help block everything out and kind of create your own little bubble. If it gets bad, I’ll do some breathing exercises or even just go stand by the bathroom for a stretch. Haven’t tried meds yet, but definitely thinking about it for longer flights.

thanks, yea I don't take meds of any kind... nor will I... Xanax and other meds I tried in the past and they just made me frantic... Gotta do this naturally so if you guys have advice for those that want to do things med-free... I'm all ears..

I have a trip coming up end of July, a 4 hour flight to Alberta from Ontario. HATE flying !! I get so nervous days before , the old stomach cramps get started . Every little bump on the plane in the air gets me white knuckling the arm rest . Hate being squeezed in . I never take my seat belt off , like it's gonna save me lol . I just sit and count the minutes til.i land . Then I worry about the flight home . I think my doc would just laugh at me of i asked for a sedative .

Strangely I calm down once on the plane. My anxiety is the lead up to it, all the airport stuff like checking in, security, making sure I am at the right gate, getting luggage in an overhead locker. Once I've done all that and sat in my seat I am good to go, until we land and have to do the reverse. We are all different.

yea that trip was back in May.. I just now saw this... The flights went fine... Only "challenge" I had was when the plane pushed back and then they stopped for a long period of time because some lady took her child to the restroom and stayed in there for like 30 minutes! That stressed me out! but once that inconsiderate person was back in her seat.. the plane moved and I felt a sense of calm rush over me in an awesome wave...

I was once on a small plane East Midlands to Aberdeen flight and we were all ready to take off and the pilot announced we would all have to get off the plane as they had forgotten to refuel it!

I was once in Charlotte, North Carolina on the plane for the final leg of my business trip to Jacksonville, Florida. Plane taxied as usual waiting to take off. Belts were on and I was already reading a magazine. The plane got the go ahead and picked up speed, about to lift off. Then all of a sudden the pilot applies the brakes and we skid to a hard stop..an aborted take off! We all slid down the ramp off of the plane. By the time we got back to the terminal, news crews were already there! No one was injured.
