Hello all,
I am new to the thread and just wanted to share my experience so far with this.
For the past 4 months I have been dealing with the feeling of having serious health issues that doctors are not finding. I have felt weak, I have had muscles aches and weakness, major headaches, major digestive problems, I have shaking in my hands during the day and wake up in the middle of the night with my body shaking and heart palpitations. I have started Prozac about 4 weeks ago and I got better for a few days but I am going back down hill. I feel like major depression is kicking in and making me so tired. in the past 3-4 months.
I’ve had....
- Many blood works
CBCD- general screen
Basic metabolic panel- general screen
Bun-liver
Creatinine-kidneys
A1C-Diabetes
Anion Gap- lungs/kidneys
EGFR-kidney
SeD rate- inflammation in body
ANA- auto immune disease
Folic- anemia
Electrolyte-
Vit b 12- vitamin
Phosphorus-bones and teeth
Magnesium- bad kidneys and intestines absorption
Lipase-pancreas
Amylase- pancreases
VIT D- Vitamin
Hep C- liver and disease
TSH- thyroid
Glucose- sugar
C reactive protein- inflammation in body
IGG subcells- immune function
Liver panel- liver
Celiac/gluten

- Many disease Tests
Trep- syphilis (2 tests)
HIV- aids (3 test)
CHLAYMIDA (2 tests)
GHONNEREA- (2 test)
Trichonomas/ bacterial STD (2)
HEP C- liver disease (1)
Lyme (2)

-Many urinalysis (5)
-An abdominal ultrasound Of all organs (liver, pancreas, stomach, etc...
-A pelvic ultrasound of kidneys, bladder and prostate....
-a cat scan of my pelvic area
-An EKG
-a chest X-ray
-2 neurological physical exams
-An MRI of my Brian
-X-ray of both feet and ankles
-annual physical
- I’m going for a colonoscopy and a endoscopy November 1st

the only thing that shows up as an abnormality in all this testing is some benign cysts.

for some reason I don’t believe the tests and or believe the multiple doctors and specialists.

thank you to anyone who read this and a reply to make sure I’m not alone would be awesome.

welcome to the boards. i'm really sorry you're going through all of this.

you really have had an extensive amount of testing done and the fact that nothing has been found should be incredibly reassuring. they symptoms you're describing can definitely all be attributed to anxiety. i've experienced them all at one point or another, and given the fact that you've more or less been examined inside and out from head to toe is even more indication that this could be anxiety-based.

regarding your prozac, it can take 4-6 weeks to reach a therapeutic level. have you had any dosage increases along the way or have you stayed at one dose? have you tried or considered talk therapy?

Hey Matt,
Thank you so much for answering. I’ve been on 20mg of Prozac for 4 weeks. Around week 3 I was feeling a lot better. Then another health trigger happened and I started to go down hill fast. They have just upped my meds to 30mg of Prozac now. (It’s only been 2 days) but I feel like I’m getting worse. Any input? I seem to be having side effects with the increasing dosage as well.

first, be aware that 20 mg is a very low dose of prozac - if memory serves me correctly, that's often considered a "starter" dose. you could need multiple increases before noticing a major difference (max dose is 80 mg, i think.) the side effects could be psychosomatic if you're concerned about them. if not, your body might just need some time to adjust. if what you're experiencing isn't too unpleasant, try riding it out and see if things get better. if you're still experiencing side effects after a week or two, just contact your doc and let them know. you may need to be switched to something different. secondly, and unfortunately, meds won't magically make your anxiety go away. cognitive behavioral therapy is proven to be very beneficial for people like us. it definitely worked for me. maybe that's something to consider?

Yes, defiantly a starter dose. They put me on 30 so I will see how my body reacts for the next week or 2 and try to stick it out. Your right most people take 40-80 mg of it just to feel better from what I’m reading. I do have some good days and some bad days and some days that are way better then others.

i know it can be tough but trying to stay positive is huge. just try to remember that even people that don't suffer from anxiety have bad days from time to time.

hopefully as your anxiety decreases you find your physical symptoms also decrease.

if you don't mind me asking, have your doctors suggested a cause for your symptoms? and have all of these tests been ordered because they feel they're medically relevant or because you've requested them? i ask because there are quite a few, many specific and done multiple times.

Cause of symptoms are all anxiety based and I pretty much went in every week looking for a diagnosis. Sadly, by thankfully the only one they gave me was anxiety. The sexually transmitted tests are all due to me being a hypochondriac and thinking that the blood tests were lying because my physical symptoms are real. For example, even though I’ve had 3 blood tests for HIV and haven’t had any recent exposures. Some days I still believe the tests were wrong.
