What do I do?!!! My fears of a bowel obstruction, appendix, etc is going through the roof right now, this is has going on for a month now these symptoms, I can pass stool once a day but it still doesn't feel right, the dull crampy pain, I was only up in ER start of last Month, I was put on ibuprofen 400mg for a week now I think that's giving a obstruction in my bowels, I'm gonna die, i know it, I just can't do this anymore

Anxiety is saying you are going to die. That is irrational fear. You might take a mild laxative to move your bowels. But since you already go once a day, that really is sufficient. Most people go once a day. At some point you will get really tired of the struggle and take active steps to help yourself get under control. You are the only one that can do it. No one can do it for you.

"It doesn't feel right" is a pretty classic anxiety symptom. What are you doing for that?

I don't know what I'm gonna do, I'm going to try get a good night sleep for now then I'll decide tomorrow if I'll go to ER, what ever is wrong with me I just want it to be gone, I'm a 17 male who doesn't drink, smoke, average weight, all my friends are making plans for their futures and I just feel...(you know) I feel like I might not even make it to Christmas

If your bowels were obstructed you wouldn’t be passing any stool. If you were checked at the ER a month ago, whatever is bothering you isn’t an emergency, which is what the ER is for. Make an appointment with your primary doc and tell him about your health anxiety.

When it comes to health anxiety a lot of the time we will convince ourselves that something is wrong and when that happens it's hard to get over that fear. What you can do is add fiber to your diet, drink more water and exercise. Other then that it may take you seeing your doctor and having test ran before you can get to the point to feeling safe. Stomach issues are a common problem when it comes to anxiety. Try to stay positive and enjoy the Holidays, I think you will be fine.

I'm still in 2 minds of what to do, I hate hospitals but this could save my life and I'll know what's wrong with me, it's the not knowing that kills me

The ER may not be able to determine what’s wrong, what they will do is make sure you are in no immediate danger. They are not there to find the answers to every issue, just to make sure that you don’t have something that needs to be taken care of immediately. If it’s been a month since your last visit to the ER and you are still having the same issues,
go see your normal doc so they can investigate.

Update:

This morning I decided to go up to ER and get check out, I got to doors of the hospital and I just panic, I just couldn't do it on my own, now I feel like a coward, I thought I was strong enough but as it turns out, im not. I left the hospital and went home, now I don't know if I done the right thing. I just wanted a few tests to rule out anything serious.

I dont think its ER level. They may not be able to tell you what it is, and may be unwilling to do much once they've established it's not a medical emergency.

Possibly if it's been a month since this started, regular doctor level to get the tests done to see what it could be.

Hey,

How is your tummy now is it feeling a little better or is it still giving you problems? Reading your previous messages you had posted, it seemed not a medical emergency but I do agree you should get it checked out as it could be anything on the medical list to do with tummy aches. If your ever unsure about anything to do with the human system like previously, if your un able to breathe, or having chest pain that's when it's serious and you either call 112 999 or 911 for an ambulance, but mostly it's not serious and it could be constipation, and that's not that serious! I hope you got it checked out though. - Ellie

Hi Ellie

Thanks for the reply, these last few days I've been feeling a bit better, The stomach pains have not been that noticeable and I'm having at Least one bowel moment a day, I'll try get (another)appointment at my local GP, it's just a bit difficult with the current pandemic, today i had a wee period of " thoughts". , chest pains as you mention was the reason I went up to to the emergency room last month, had a few tests and all were normal, that's what kinda set of this period of Health axinety I'm currently having.
