Hi all,
I’ve been fighting anxiety for a couple years now, I go thru periods where I am ok for awhile and then a ache, pain or a hiccup in my heartbeat causes me to get super anxious, I become hyper vigilant, monitoring my heartbeat and blood pressure which of course goes up due to being anxious and thing just get crazy. I always seem to focus on my heart and in the last two years I’ve had a angiogram ( doctor told my wife the veins/arteries around my heart are golden) two MRI’s (all good) three echocardiogram ‘s (good) four EKG’s -good multiple doctors/hospital visits and blood work and everything good. I take my blood pressure too often and it only makes me more anxious. I try to tell myself to listen to the doctors but anxiety doesn’t like reason:)

Hi,

Sure sorry that you're going through this. There's not much to suggest as your anxiety is overwhelming your voice of reason. Perhaps you could concentrate on cutting back on your monitoring. Start with not taking the vitals just one time after you feel a symptom and see how that goes.

Anxiety is an unpredictable monster that defies any kind of logic. If our body could talk and tell us that everything is really ok and that we should not worry, we wouldn't listen. The only thing that i could suggest to you @Poolman68 is, to get into some relaxation methods. Check out some heart specific exercises and mindfulness relaxation. The worst thing for your heart is stress, but we are to anxious and stressed about the health of our heart.
It's a devils cycle.

Once anxiety (or whatever that is up with my body) gave me palpitations that sorta sounds like your aches and hiccups as mentioned. Every minute, for a whole week. I was scared beyond my mind, but the specialist just told me I have to find a therapist. If nothing is up after some check-ups-- to be sure and safe, accept that you are fine and let the OCD thoughts go away gradually.

Thanks guys! i am usually able to keep my anxiety from getting out of control but after my initial post I realized I had been accidentally glutened which kicks my butt both mentally and physically. It is a little over a week later and I still have a higher frequency of anxiety but the level of severity is dropping. I should have recognized what was happening but I don’t always think clearly when I am going through it. It helps just to share it here and get it off my chest so to those that read or responded thank you very much.
