Well I’m glad all turned out ok for u! Just hope that’s my case too. I was given sertraline some months ago, but I stupidly read ALL of the side effects from mild to severe, common to very uncommon and convinced myself I would get the serious ones and I guess the anxiety took over and I couldn’t bring myself to take them. Of course I will mention this to the mental health nurse next week! Hopefully I will get some help, I have done almost 5 years of this s**t and I can’t cope with it.
I feel you. I have done it almost 2 years and I’m tired of it.

This has happened to me! I feel like I clench and grind my teeth in the middle of the night and it causes a lot of what I feel in the morning. I also get odd sensations in my mouth, and the back of my tongue is white with raised bumps. I have a lump on my tonsil and I swear when I open my mouth real wide there’s a fleshy part of my tongue of tonsil that pops out. I swear I felt it every time I swallowed, like it was getting stuck. Anyway, I went to an ENT last week and he checked me out and now I haven’t felt any of those sensations since then. It is absolutely crazy how symptoms can disappear once a doctor tells you it’s nothing. Although, sometimes what a doctor says isn’t enough for me, and I need the tests. Either way, when I look back on the last year, ALL of my symptoms have gone away after the fear of the disease had.
Hello and Thankyou for sharing that with me. It’s nice to know I am not alone. It all sounds very similar to me only I can’t see any lumps I just feel like I have a lump in the back or the side of my tongue. I have the whiteness that you have explained. And my tongue is just sore. Sometimes the weird sensations I get on the left side have started in the right side too! My symptoms are nowhere near as bad as they have been, got to be a good sign right? And they appear more in the evening when I’m relaxed. My doctor won’t even entertain me with a referral to ENT. I have just been told to basically live with the sensations. I am a bit like you that I can’t take them doctors word for it I need tests, this time they aren’t giving me the tests!!! Still freaking out over it. So so glad to hear that your tests were fine and you have nothing in your mouth to worry about!
I’m so sorry you are feeling this way. But I can say I understand for the last 3 weeks I’ve had sore throat burning tongue. Headaches and eye problems and ear problems. And swelling and eating has been hard. But Finally my sister and husband said hey go get a check up but dry weather change of seasons. Even snoring which aka I’m a huge snorer and my dentist had said he wants me checked for sleep apnea cause I wake up choking and shallow breathing. And sometimes just your bodies way of dealing with sinus issues and virus. But all these things can cause throat and tongue pain. But I understand. I can get stuck on the symptoms and than i dr google which tells me only the worst of things. If 3 doctors and 2 dentist tell you nothing is the matter I’m sure. But because of health anxiety we can stop I understand I am the same way. A ent definitely can help you though with more throat issues than a dentist. Have a wonderful day though and I hope and pray your mind is soon at ease.
UPDATE****Hello, me again! Woke up feeling very deflated today, just can’t shift the fear that have tongue cancer. It’s really getting me down now having these sensations and having no answers. I don’t believe that my HA is causing me to feel this symptoms in my mouth, it’s obviously making me seriously worried about it though.
Your sister in law isn't a health care professional. You have had multiple professionals look at that lump and determine that it is normal. People are not symmetrical. As I am sitting here typing this, I can feel my teeth rubbing the left side of my tongue and not my right, because that is the way my mouth is shaped. Sometimes I even get cuts or sores on the left side of my tongue because of how my tongue interacts with the teeth on my left side. This is particularly true when I sleep on that side of my face.UPDATE****
I spoke to the doctor on the phone and he has given me nystatin for oral thrush, I have since looked in my mouth with my sister in law and the foliate papillae on the left side of my tongue is swollen and looks really big compared to the right side, I can feel it rubbing on my tongue, this is the lump sensation I can feel! I’m absolutely sure it’s sinister! Freaking out is an understatement!!!

Thankyou for your kind words. I feel sick as a dog this morning. That’s probably just my nerves kicking in about going to the dentist this afternoon!
