they are not. or so i am told they are not but i feel like they are and have felt this way since i was very young. town carnivals, amusement parks, school plays, walking down church isle, dancing, so many crowded places. Am going to be 35. even had an episode in church. swear that was not me. what happened? paxil helps alot. social anxiety disorder is no fun. to anyone out there stay on your medicine. it helps. you are not a "nut". don't let people judge you. it is none of their business.

I have had this very same problem now since I was a kid, since the last year when I started having relationship problems and I had a panic attack I was put on Zoloft it seemed to help for the first 6 months now a year later, I still have that feeling people are looking at me and have irrational fears with physical symptoms. What more can I do? I am not sure I can afford therapy.

When I am in a public area where there are lots of people I feel that I stand out like a sore thumb. I don't look any different from anyone else, but because I was born out of an incestuous relationship I feel that I am different from a lot of people. Thankfully I don't have any physical disability and of course, no one knows what I am when they see me walking down the street. I still can't get it out of my head, though. I feel that everyone knows. I feel that I am naughty because of what I am and I'm worried that someone will shout out at me insults when they see me. I know that these feelings are totally unnecessary but it doesn't stop them from coming.

This happens to me all the time for years now although I wouldn't call it an anxiety related disorder but I am so honestly fed up. I do get all the looks whenever I walk on the road and it's the most annoying thing.

I am no different from the rest of the crowd but this has happened in maby countries that I have travelled to.

It is not in my head as I initially thought because those who are with me at that time always comment kn this and ask "Why are people looking at you so strangely?"

I never would know the answer I guess but I am just so fed up.

Have you travelled to countries where you are a different colour skin to the natives? Maybe that is why you get looked at when you have travelled. It is annoying because it makes you feel like you have two heads or something similar. I remember when I was in Egypt and the revolution was going on. Everyone went home to their own country and the natives went back to their villages. There was only a handful of people left in the area I was living. The main high street was deserted. Most of the shops were closed up. It was like a ghost town. I took a walk down the main high street and all the natives who had stayed came out to watch me. It was such a strange uncomfortable feeling that I didn't go again.
