Ladies let me ask you something? Have you ladies ever considered your anxiety and depression could be caused by a hormone imbalance? This just came to me. On top of everything else , I also suffer from polycystic ovarian syndrome. I sat here thinking that if I could get my hormones tested again and maybe if I could do what it takes to get my hormones back in order than maybe the suffering will end. I advise other women to try the same. Enough chemical based anti depressants, enough with the anti anxiety medication. I quit. It's time for me to figure this out once and for all and fix this for good . Tell me what you ladies think.

You should go with your gut instinct @Concernedgal if you think it may be a physical reason for your anxiety. Mine is due to early childhood trauma so it wouldn't really be that reason for me. It is a good thought, though. There are many reasons for anxiety and depression and hormones are one thing that can easily be checked out.

I hope your reason is found to be hormones, and that you manage to heal quickly and fully. Please let us all know what happens. Will you see the doc to ask him specifically?

It could be related and could also be a reason why some meds aren't as effective. As you said in other threads your have issues being in cars or on transport, so there maybe other fears maybe from childhood too. Often it's a combination of things all lumped together and then a therapist has to try and untangle the web.

Take it slowly, and do what you can. Sometimes the most powerful remedy is within yourself and sheer determination. It's not easy, but it can work in conjunction with everything else.

Thank you very much for your support. I already have an appointment on February to get those test. He told me that I would have to also come in during my mentrual cycle to get the most accurate result. I gotta tell you though, these test are not cheep. Lol. But, you gotta do what you gotta do. Your hormones control just about every part of your body including your adrenal and pituitary gland and even your hypothalamus. All team up to effect your mood and the way a person handles stress. I am hopeful that for this reason that maybe I can finally have resolution of this at least. Maybe ... this could also be a desperate attempt for a quick fix. But, when it comes to anxiety and panic... if you lose hope.. if you give up.. then you lose that thing that keeps you going everyday. I understand that this may be a long shot but, I have to know. I need some sort of closer that i've looked for everything else possible. If it's not.. then I will except my doctors diagnosis and treat it accordingly.

Have you also thought about fluoride? It calcifies the pineal gland and brings on depression. Or you could ask your Doctor to test your serotonin levels. It may be that your levels are low and he could easily give you a pill to give it a boost. A relative of mine has that problem and he takes a pill that the Doctor gave him to boost the levels.

Hum. I never thought iof that. Maybe it is the fluoride and maybe it is the sarotonin. Whatever it is though. I'm just looking for a resolution once and for all. I just got tired of the anti depressant experimentation. You know what what i'm saying? Thank you so much for the advice. I'm going to screen shoot this so I can remember this and I will definitely ask my doctor for those additional test .

Are you a nurse or something? You sound like you might be. I went to nursing school for a year but, I dropped out. Or are you just speaking from your relatives experience. I'm intrigued to know more about it. Google , here I come . Lol

That is nice @Concernedgal but no, I am not a nurse. I am just one of those people who are interested in things that the majority shy away from. Most people I have spoken to about the fluoride thing either don't believe me or aren't bothered about it. It interested me because I suffer from depression and I just came across it one day while I was surfing the net. It surprised me that the Governments say it helps us when it is a toxic waste product. I found so much information on it. Even dentists who said that drinking it was like drinking hair dye to make your hair a different colour! They said drinking it doesn't actually have the desired effect on our teeth unless it is put on the teeth directly with a toothpaste.

We can have a teaspoon of Tamarind each day though, and that cancels out any effect of the fluoride. Because it is in the water across the whole world practically, we can't get away from it. Water is used to give to the vegetation, so when we eat we are eating the fluoride and when we wash, it goes in through the skin, there is no way of getting out of consuming it.

You can easily google the fluoride scenario, there is loads on the subject on YouTube

I hope you find the reason, your original idea may just be the case. Perhaps it is a hormone imbalance and that means it may be rectified. My own Doctor agreed that the fluoride does calcify our pineal gland, and that can cause depression, but he told me that in my case it is due to trauma.

Good luck and let us know how you get on. :)

I believe it could be caused by a hormone imbalance, it really could be a possibility and something we should ask our Doctors. Symptoms of hormone imbalance include, insomnia, mood swings, irritability, fatigue and yes, you guessed it "depression". It would be easy to mistake these symptoms with anxiety and depression. It's certainty something to look into.;)

Hormonal imbalance can play havoc on the body. Hormonal profile therefore is a warranted tests aming others where there is lability of mood. The thyroid profile and female/male hormones are equal culprit.

I am very impressed @Concernedgal's determination of grabbing the root of the problem. I usually approach any problem in the same manner!

Thank you very much@Decentlady. My hormone profile was said to be within normal range. I really thought I had it figured out this time too. I just don't understand it.

You are right about that however, my hormones were said to be within normal range. Which is very disappointing. I thought I had it figured out this time. I really did. I suppose the search for answers continues.

@Concernedgal did you ask your doctor to check out your serotonin levels? It may be that they are low and he can give you specific meds to try. At least you've been able to rule out hormones.:joyful:
