Alcohol can help people to relax, so if it's used in moderation and the person is of legal age, why not use it? I don't agree with overusing it, or using it as a substitute for other relaxation means that can better serve you, but once in a while, it can help calm you down and improve your performance in the situation. Just keep an eye on your use, and be sure you're in control, not the substance.

If we have a couple of drinks no question the anxiety goes away. I guess this is fine if we do that every couple of months, but if we start doing this on a daily basis we will have far worse problems than anxiety, as we might become alcoholic. So I say having a drink if fine, but we should use common sense and moderation to know when to have it and when to stop.

I lose all my social anxiety after a few drinks, but I think I'm so tightly bottled most of the time that I get over-the-top and turn into a stupid drunk. Not like, destructive or anything, just dumb.

I think one of my cousins is an alcoholic. He hits the bar pretty much every night, especially after losing both of his parents.

Alcohol does have the ability to lower inhibitions and that can also include anxiety. I don't drink, so I can't speak from experience, but if you don't get the least bit tipsy and can still function normally and safely, then I guess there's nothing really wrong in that. Just always remember not to overdo it, since you might end up getting arrested under DUI or something.

A DUI or even worse, be responsible for your own injury/death and/or someone else's.

I've never driven under the influence, but I know people who have.
