I was like that before and yeah, it's gravely frustrating. I get angry at myself before when I tend to forget about a lot most specially new ideas, new people, and new tasks. I was able to recently counter this buy changing your daily routines and habits. I make it a point to always bring a notepad and a pen with me so that in any case I have to memorize something, I will just write it down instead of memorizing it or saving the idea on the smartphone. Doctors advise that you write it down on a notepad so you will have a reason to check it out later. If you are using a phone, sometimes you would also forget to check your list since you use the phone mostly for everything you do daily like texting, calling, browsing the internet, watching videos and other stuff, but if you write it down, you are helping your brain to be creative and remember better. In addition to that, I also challenge myself everyday so I won't forget what I need to remember in a day by playing mind games in relation to what I would like to recall. When I eat, I see to it that I eat nutritious foods and brain foods like fruits and nuts. So far, I can say that my brain is functioning better now than when I was sulking from memory frustrations.

I can remember the past like it was yesterday. (I have GREAT long-term memory.) Only problem is, I can't remember what I did yesterday. :hilarious: I mean, I can if I really try hard enough, but I certainly can't remember as well as I can remember the old days when I was a kid. Like, when I think about yesterday, it's all foggy.

So my short-term memory is awful. I blame all the beer-drinking I did in my 20's and early 30's. They say short-term memory is the first thing to go if you've done some continuous drinking in your past, which I have. And now I'm on Xanax, so who knows what the heck it's doing to my memory as well. I just know it's not messing with all of my long-term memories that I keep stored in my head, and those are what's important to me anyway. :playful:
