Have any of you ever researched OCD and coping techniques? My sister is having a really hard time with her OCD right now and I am thinking of getting a few books on the subject for her. Any suggestions? There are so many books on Amazon about OCD, but was wondering if anyone here have found any helpful. Thanks again!

There are a lot of really good ones.  "The Boy Who Could Not Stop Washing" is a good one that gives a decent overview.  "Stop Obsessing!" by Edna Foa and Reid Wilson is a really good one and has gotten wide usage.  Those authors also have a workbook called "Mastery of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Workbook".  "Brain Lock" by Jeffery M. Schwartz was suggested reading when I was in my Counselling Anxiety Disorders class in college.  I highly recommend it.

Thanks for the list HappyKoi. Might I add getting her the popular books of Dale Carnegie, Napolean Hill, and other such authors as well. Basically, a combination of practical books and confidence boosting self-help content will help her deal with this stuff. If you just get her the OCD books, she might feel like she has a bad problem and may hinder her own growth due to a lack of motivation.

Yes, there are a lot of books written on the subject, and undoubtedly some are better than others, but some of the books that have been mentioned in this forum are some of the more well known ones, and some of the ones I think that can be helpful to people who are suffering from these conditions. I simply think that any well written resource would be helpful with the condition and could be of assistance while coping with OCD.
