This story is about my Mum who suffers from General Anxiety. It's not at a point where its awfully bad nor at a point where she can overcome it.

Shes a very confident person, sometimes overly. But she gets panic attacks randomly- For example she got one in the Airport as we moved through security, she may suddenly have to stop driving on the Motorway when she gets a panic attack.

Does anybody else suffer from this random sort of anxiety?

Many that suffer severe depression like I do does suffer from some form of panic disorder. I mean does she hyperventilate or do you just notice her demeanor changing? When you are having a panic attack your body thinks your in danger when your not so your no matter what your body is going to react as if your in grave danger. Although as an anxiety sufferer you probably already know that . Lol. I have frequent unexpected panic attacks too. It doesn't sound like your moms life is being altered by this. And that's good. As for me though, my body tell me being in certain places like a car, or a grocery store is dangerous. When clearly it is not. The attacks can be so intense and I believe that what I experience is more agitationthan anxiety.

I also have a couple of friends who suffer from severe panic attacks, but to look at them you wouldn't think it would happen to them and that's part of where the problem lies. They are confident, outspoken and very outgoing, it's just that sometimes things get a little too much for them and they have sort of like a sensory overload for want of a better way of saying it. Just because a person is outgoing and confident, doesn't mean that there isn't an underlying issue that we aren't aware of so we should really try and not judge a person, and realise that panic attacks and anxiety issues can happen to anybody at any time.
