I had this maybe years ago. I don't know if I don't have them now or my mind just don't care. I just think about articles I've read stating that dreams are random thoughts and does not mean anything. Some might disagree but it helped me to stop worrying about them.

I remember my dreams more than most people. At least, this is what it seems like to me. Generally, I have 1-3 vivid dreams a night. More often than night, they are slightly disturbing. I don't know why I have these dreams. They might be many of my fears or aggression presenting themselves, but I have no clue. The most alarming ones are of me graphically killing something or someone, admittedly. However, when I do this in my dreams, it is usually for my own protection, not out of hatred. Still, why does this happen? Am I a freak who secretly wants to kill people? Is there something wrong with me? I don't think I could ever actually hurt anyone. So, what? I think I'm afraid for my safety, too paranoid, that type of thing. I also have many dreams where later when I think of them, I am unsure if this was a dream or reality because it was just too realistic.

I have had strange dreams and low level nightmares in recent years, but not as much lately. I have been actively retraining myself to be the "dream warrior" (i.e., lucid dreamer) I was as a child. Once this ability is mastered, dreams can become a true learning tool!

Well I have certainly been here before, but the good news is that you are not alone here and I am sure most of us have had disturbing dreams. I really do not make much of them, just the same as I do not make much of really good dreams either, but I would say that if it is something recurrent and is causing problems with your sleep, then this is something that you definitely want to talk to someone about. There is a lot of help and resources out there, so finding those is always a good idea. Interesting stuff, and thanks for sharing.

I have had disturbing dreams at times, but then who hasn't? I don't relate them specifically to phobias but more to things i had just done, like watching a scary movie or things of that nature. I rarely have a disturbing dream just out of the blue, there is usually something that has precipitated it in some way shape or form. It is just one of the thins that I think a lot of people end up going through at times.

Do you watch crime shows? Scary movies? I can't explain this phenomenon but I'm sorry you have to deal with those disturbing dreams at night.

I also have dreams that makes me terrified, good thing I wake up easily. There are times that I do remember my dreams and sometimes I don't. Whenever I have disturbing dreams, I don't really know that I am dreaming and in my dream, I feel so scared. Not long ago, I believe that dreams can be something that we can interpret or it can give us a message that could help us in our daily life. But then somebody told me that dreams are just part of our subconscious mind that we either ignore or kept thinking that's why it comes in our dreams.

I sometimes have dreams that some of my family members die as well. It worries me and causes a lot of stress to the point where I keep calling them to see if they are okay.

I found that simply telling that person about your dream or worry can easily get rid of that fear. I do this sometimes and they start joking about it and then I feel that now that they know, it won't happen because I changed their fate or something. I know it's silly but it works.

If it's about my death, I joke about it to myself and laugh about it.

Lately I don't recall most of my dreams, but when I do I certainly have some disturbing ones or even nightmares. I don't know if there is a direct association or not (most likely there is), but usually my concerns or fears during the dreams are in a way related with my worries during daytime. For example, if I am worried with my kids during the day I might dream something bad is happening to them.
